Complete copy of ‘The Independent', 8pp., New York, Nov. 10, 1864, reporting on Abraham Lincoln's re-election, with the headline: ‘The Presidential Election. Abraham Lincoln Re-Elected! An Overwhelming Victory!'. The article reads in part: ‘...results not fully known...but sufficient returns are received to show that ABRAHAM LINCOLN and ANDREW JOHNSON are chosen as President and Vice President...the war is to go on till the Rebellion and slavery are crushed together!...'. Other headlines relate to developments in the war, including: ‘Congregationalism', ‘Lovable Christians', ‘Congregational Councils', and ‘General News' articles read, in part: ‘...rebels essayed a night attack upon Gen. Grant's lines on Saturday...repulsed with considerable loss...when the rebels advanced they received such a fire as to drive them back in confusion. Repeated attempts resulted in a like maker...Richmond will fall in good time...'. Light creasing and spotting, else very good.

International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
