LEVI LINCOLN THANKSGIVING PROCLAMATION (1782-1868) American politician, Jefferson's Attorney General and Governor of Massachusetts, elected a member of the Continental Congress but declined to serve. Printed broadside signed in type as Governor, 18" x 22", Boston, Oct. 20, 1828, Lincoln's "Proclamation for a Day of Public Thanksgiving and Praise", with much Christian reference, a call to prayer, and so on, ending: "God save the Commonwealth of Massachusetts!". Very light offsetting, else very good. $200-300
