KARL DONITZ
(1891 - 1980) German admiral who headed the U-Boat arm of the German Navy, later succeeded Hitler as Fuehrer after Hitler's suicide. Fine lot of three signed souvenir typescripts, each is boldly signed, one signed in full. Includes: a typed copy of a letter from HERMANN GORING to Donitz, 1p. oblong 8vo., May 6, 1945 suggesting that he, Goring, join Jodl in negotiations with Eisenhower, signed by Donitz at bottom; a souvenir T.L.S. 1p. 4to., May 6, 1945, in German, apparently introducing Jodl and approving him to negotiate a surrender; and a T.Ms.S., 5pp. 4to., Oct. 25, 1970, headed "Ten Years and Twenty Days: Epilogue", an excerpt from Donitz's memoirs. Three items, fine condition.
