(1888 – 1969) American businessman, investor and politician known for his high-profile positions in government and for the political and other achievements of his children. Father of assassinated President John F. Kennedy and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy. Fine content T.L.S. with holograph salutation, subscription, and signed postscript on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Aug. 26, 1944 to John G. Erhardt who had served as Consul in London when Kennedy was ambassador. In full: '...Thank you for writing your thoughts of Joe. In the sorrow of the event it is comforting to realize how much Joe was loved and admired by those who, like yourself, knew him best. Our pride, thus heightened, cannot quite fill the void in our lives but your tribute to his memory is real consolation...' He adds in his postscript: 'What a swell, loyal person you are! Joe'. Very light foxing at top, else fine. Joseph Kennedy, Jr. (1915 – August 12, 1944) was a Navy lieutenant. He was killed in action while flying an experimental remote-controlled bomber loaded with explosives.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
