JOHN STARK
(1728 - 1822) American Revolution brigadier general engaged at Bunker Hill, Trenton and Princeton, winner of the battle at Bennington against Burgoyne, and served on the court-martial that condemned Major John Andre. Rare A.D.S. signed in the text, 1p. 5" x 1 1/2", [1758], a ledger listing: "John Hall to John Stark [?] to four hides weing [sic] 233 pounds at four shillings a Pound L46:12". Lightly toned, text just a tad light in places, else very good, with a 1910 letter of provenance describing the item and its source.
