Description: JOHN J. ASTOR
(1763 - 1848) American fur trader and financier, Astor grew to become the dominant fur trader in America and built a fortune from investments in government loans and real estate. Manuscript D.S. "J. Astor" on a small slip, [n.p.] Jan. 1828, a receipt in which Astor writes at bottom: "hundred & fourteen 68/100 Dollars J. Astor". Mounted to a card, closely cut at left margin, else very good.

Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
