Description: JOHN GULLY
(1783 - 1863) Noted English prize-fighter, horse-racer and politician. His scarce franking signature "J. Gully" as Minister of Parliament for Pontefract, London, Apr. 22, 1836 on 5" x 3" address panel. Addressed in his hand to "Saml. V. Knott Esqr Alphington W. Exeter" With red 22 Apr 1836 "FREE" cancellation at top right. Fine condition.
