Description:

JOHN FRENCH SLOANE
(1871-1951) American artist, a member of "The Eight" and a leader of the Ashcan School of realists. Fine original pen and ink drawing executed on the half-title page of the volume of poem Madrigali by T. A. Daly with illustrations by Sloan within. The drawing measures about 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" and depicts a women in Edwardian dress holding a plate. Inscribed and signed at left: "To Clara Karlin from John Sloane Dec 1912". Light to moderate offsetting at right, overall very good condition. Book is in poor shape but the drawing could easily be removed and displayed.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
