JAMES E. CARTER
(b. 1924) Thirty-ninth President of the United States who engineered a break-through in Arab-Israeli relations. Excessively rare A.L.S. "Jimmy" as President on mint green White House letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington, Nov. 29, 1977 to prominent New York Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. In full: "To Sen. Pat Moynihan I appreciated your constructive press release of 11/18 re telephone communications eavesdropping. Jimmy". Tape remnant at extreme top margin, light abrasion at bottom extreme margin, ink docket at top, else fine.
