JAMES BUCHANAN
(1791 - 1868) Fifteenth President of the United States whose hands-off attitude toward states' rights directly contributed to the start of the Civil War. Partial A.D. (unsigned), 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p., n.d.], in full: "...The only proclamation for obstructing the execution of process under the Act of 31 April 1790 is a fine not exceeding $300 [penned in another hand]and imprisonment not exceeding twelve months". On Apr. 30, 1790, two acts were approved: one against treason and another regulating the military establishment of the country. Penned on light blue lined sheet, overall very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
