J. EDGAR HOOVER
(1895 - 1972) Controversial Director of the F.B.I. who built the organization into the world's finest investigative agency. I.S.P. 9" x 7" on a 11" x 9" mount, a color photograph of Hoover, in profile, shaking the hand of Special Agent Rebecca N. Holmes and inscribed to her on the mount and dated "3.29.68" Some minor dents and creases to photograph, else near fine condition. Offered together with a pair of T.Ls.S. from Hoover, 1p. ea. 4to., Washington, Mar. 29 & Sept. 26, 1968 to Special Agent Holmes, one in which he awards her the "Bureau's Twenty-five-Year Service Award Key" and the other acknowledging her retirement from the Bureau. Both letters bear try mounting remains on verso, else very good. Together, three pieces.
