ISAAC HULL
(1773 - 1843) American naval officer who commanded the Constitution in its victory over the British warship Guerriere in the War of 1812. Fine content A.L.S. 1. 4to., "United States Gun Boat No. 10", Sept. 17, 1807, to Lieutenant Warrenton, "Commd of G Boat No. 64", in part: "...In consiquence of orders I have received from Commodore Stephen Decatur to convene a Court Martial on board of the United States Frigate Chesepeake on Thursday the 17th Inst. for the purpose of trying a Seaman belonging to said Ship. I do hereby appoint you a member of said Court, and have to request that you give your attendance...". With integral address leaf bearing a free frank reading "On Duty", a couple of slits at bottom from opening, well clear of text, otherwise very good.
