Description:

IRVING BERLIN(1888 - 1989) American songwriter who penned over 1,000 tunes including "God Bless America" and "There's No Business Like Show Business". Fine content T.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Jan. 2, 1943, during World War II to Mr. Walton, in part: "...I often wondered what happened to the music we crated and shipped out to the bands in the A.E.F. during the last war, and it was a great source of satisfaction to know that it really arrived and was used. As you may know, I was one of a committee of three to choose this music for the A.E.F. and I personally supervised the packing of the cases in downtown New York...often wondered what had become of all that music, because the Armistice came right in the middle of it...". Folds, otherwise very good.
