Description:

HERMANN GORING'S DIAMOND AND RUBY TIE BAR PIN
A superb relic purportedly owned and worn by Hermann Goring and a beautiful fine jewelry piece in and of its own right! This handsome bar pin is crafted in solid 18K gold and platinum. The central element features a diamond-encrusted, highly detailed Luftwaffe eagle in platinum with a single ruby eye, perched on a gold swastika, its wings set with 12 rose-cut diamonds. It is presented within a white-enameled square frame and is affixed to a square bar pin that closes by way of a sophisticated, high quality locking catch to keep it securely in place while Goring was active in the field. The pin measures 2.5 in long. Hallmarked on verso: 'PT [platinum] & 18K'. Accompanied by the original leather presentation case with velvet interior and button catch, stamped by jewelers Otto Wusteney within: ‘Otto Wusteney, Uhrmacher u[nd] Juwlier Berlin No. 31 Brunnen-Str. 104'. Originally offered in Aug. 1997 by AAG International Militaria and Arms auctions, during which time the firm offered many personally owned items by figures such as a pistol of Fritz Sauckel among many others, as well as a large selection of material owned by prominent historian and collector Major John Angolia. Accompanied by the original auction catalog listing and buyer's invoice. Fine condition.
