Description:

An excellent association piece, a brief biography of Goring inscribed to fascist leader and aviator ITALO BALBO (1896-1940). The book, ‘Goring, was fallt Ihnen ein!’ (‘Goring, What’s On Your Mind!), written by his friend and future press manager Martin Sommefeldt, was printed by E. S. Mittler & Sohn, Berlin, 1932 and is 60pp. 8vo. In paperback. Goring warmly inscribes the half-title page to Balbo in German, celebrating Balbo’s visit to Berlin in December, 1932, against Mussolini’s better judgement. Boldly inscribed and signed, fine condition. Balbo would soon become Goring’s Italian counterpart as leader of the Italian air force. ITALO BALBO (1896-1940) was an Italian fascist politician and Blackshirts' leader who served as Italy's Marshal of the Air Force, Governor-General of Libya and Commander-in-Chief of Italian North Africa. Balbo was described as the 'heir apparent' to Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, often seen as one of his most probable successors. Shot down and killed by 'friendly' Italian fire.
