HERBERT HOOVER
(1874-1964) 31st President of the United States whose attempts to reverse the course of the Great Depression led to his defeat at the polls by Franklin D. Roosevelt. T.L.S. 1p. 4to. on his personal letterhead, [n.p.], July 7, 1941 to Wheeler McMillen of the Farm Journal writing, in part: "...I deeply appreciate your kind expression about the speech. I also agree with you that the question of self-sufficiency could easily expanded in more convincing fashion..." Together with a second T.L.S. 1p. 4to., on his personal letterhead, [n.p.], Sept. 29, 1941 also to Wheeler McMillen: "I am glad to know you liked the address. I deeply appreciate the encouragement which you send to me. We are indeed in difficult times..." Usual folds, else fine condition. Together, two pieces.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
