Description:

HEINRICH HIMMLER (1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the SS and Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremburg. Fine association and content typed D.S., 1p. 4to., Berlin, Dec. 20, 1937, to MARTIN BORMANN (1900-1945), then chief of staff and personal secretary to Deputy Fuhrer Rudolf Hess. Himmler dictates punishment for an SS officer named Schulz, for an unstated transgression. In part: "In reply to your letter of 26. 11. I agree that in the case of former SS-Oberfuhrer Schulz: 1.) I graciously moderate the punishment to reduction in rank from SS-Oberfuhrer and reinstatement with the rank of SS-Standartenfuhrer. 2.) Schulz will receive a year's service uniform ban, which can be lifted for special ceremonies by the SS-Oberabschnittfuhrer. 3.) Schulz will receive an alcohol ban for 6 years. The Oberabschnittsfuhrer will report to me every six months. 4.) Schulz will be deprived of the "Totenkopfring" (""Death's Head Ring") for 1 year. 5.) I suspend the removal of his sword..." Himmler further addresses his reply to the chief of the "SS-Personalkanzlei" (""Personnel Office"), the chief of the "SS-Hauptamtes" (""Main Office"), and the chief of the "SS-Sicherheitspolizei" (""Security Police""). He signs at the conclusion in green ink. Shows file holes at the left margin, staple holes at top left, and a small tear to the right edge, else very good.
