(1884-1972) 33rd President of the United States who led the country in the closing days of World War II and through the re-building of Europe under the Marshall Plan and the Korean War. His presidential memoir: "Years of Trial and Hope" (Garden City: Doubleday & Co.), 1956. First edition, 596pp. 8vo in dust jacket. Covers, dustjacket, and first and last few pages badly water-stained. Inscribed and signed on the half-title page and dated March 23, 1961. Estimated accordingly.
