GROUPING OF JAPANESE INVASION, PHILIPPINE EMERGENCY AND OTHER WWII CURRENCY
Fine grouping of World War II currency notes, primarily Japanese Military Authority Southern Development Bank Notes, informally known as Japanese Invasion Money (JIM). When the Japanese military captured an area, they would confiscate all money and replace it with their own paper currency. Lot includes: four 1942-series "One Peso notes; four 1943-series One Peso notes; one 1943-series Five Pesos note. Also included is a two-peso Leyte Emergency Currency Board note, signed by several bank officials, and a five-peso "Emergency Circulating Note of 1944 from Hoilo City (May 1, 1944). Lot also includes a 1913 five-peso (Miner on recto) note. From the personal collection of World War II and Civil War historian Michael Miner. Miner's thirty-year collection was built through an extensive system of contacts he developed with artifact hunters and diggers in Europe and the Far East, and he maintained careful records of the items he amassed.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
