JAY GOULD (1836-1892) American financier and "robber baron" who manipulated railway stock prices, looted the Erie Rail Road's treasury, and brought on the panic of "Black Friday". Fine D.S., a certificate for one hundred $100 shares of stock in the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railway Company issued to Gould, Oct. 12, 1880, signed on the face by Gould as President. Stub has been glued to left margin partly obscuring the face of the stock, punch cancel hole barely grazes first letter in signature, light soiling, still very good.         $400-500
