807. RANDALL LEE GIBSON (1832-1892) Confederate brigadier general who led a brigade at Chickamauga and Chattanooga. He also fought under Hood at Atlanta and in Tennessee. A.E.S. signed with initials on verso of a small postal cover, in full: "Hurch? Please read & write me all you know & send to ...King & return the letter. R.L.G." Even toning and some smearing to ink, overall good. Along with two pieces relative to King, his former chief of staff who was killed at Shiloh, being a Special Order No. 44, written and signed by King, and an 1868 letter from King's father, written to Gibson requesting help in locating his son's personal effects. $100-150
