GEORGE GERSHWIN (1898-1937) American composer and songwriter in collaboration with his brother Ira, his works include "Porgy and Bess", "Rhapsody in Blue ", and "An American in Paris ". Bold blue ink signature "George Gershwin ," penned on 12" x 6" broadside program ca. 1934, for the "Tour Celebrating the Tenth Anniversary of 'Rhapsody in Blue' presenting GEORGE GERSHWIN Composer, Pianist JAMES MELTON, Tenor and the REISMAN SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA Charles Previn, Conductor in a PROGRAM OF GERSHWIN SUCCESSES ". The program featured Gershwin performing Concerto in F, Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris, Variations on I Got Rhythm, and a medley of songs from his Broadway musicals. Weakened folds with some splits there one, reinforced on verso with plastic tape resulting in some text at beginning of the program being slightly not aligned at fold, could be restored. $800-1,000
