A.L.S. 2pp. sm. 4to., Vienna, July 4, 1868, to Edward Edwards in Nice, in part: "...I have this moment written to Madame Santi - of the Hotel Royal - telling her that we expect to reach Nice after the 22nd of this month, & asking if we can have rooms about that time. Will you be kind enough to ask her what she can do for us, & if she cannot, will you kindly see if we can get some at some other good Hotel provided it is not that new one - which I should think would be too damp. Madame Santi will write to me...Please send a line to care of 'Blumenthal...Venice' - We are very tired of German winters & long for the Mediterranean & light once more...".
