GEORGE M. COHAN
(1878 - 1942) American composer of such classic hits as "Yankee Doodle Dandy", "Give My Regards to Broadway" and "Over There". An excellent association piece, his signature in pencil on the back inside cover of a 4pp. 4to. program for a testimonial dinner at the Penn Athletic Club honoring him, impresario, Major Edward Bowes; theatrical manager, SAM H. HARRIS; and bibliographer A. S. W. ROSENBACH. The latter two also add their signatures above and below Cohan's. Included with the program is a nice real-photo postcard of Cohan. Fine condition. Offered together with MAURICE EVANS (1901 - 1989), signature on the cover of a program for his appearance in Richard II in Philadelphia in 1937. Also offered together with GLORIA SWANSON I.S.P. 8" x 10" b/w photograph of one of her sculptures. Three pieces in very good to fine condition.
