Description:

(1918 - 1967) American Nazi leader and founder of the National Socialist White People's Party, assassinated by a fellow party member. Excellent content T.L.S. on his 'swastika-eagle' professional letterhead, 1p. 8vo., Arlington, March 5, 1965, addressed to a party member, seeking a National Guard informant in an ongoing investigation into Rockwell's ties with the New England mafia. In part: '...Thank you for your note on the National Guard situation in Massachusetts. The FBI, by law, can reveal no information and never does. Or at least they never do to me. On the other hand, there is no such restriction on National Guard people. Surely, if such a large operation were carried out, you should be able to track down at least one participant to whom I could talk...Thanks again for the information. Heil Hitler!'. Signed at the conclusion. Very good condition. This letter certainly references an FBI memo released in Boston two months earlier, which unveiled a growing business relationship between Rockwell and a New England crime family, led by Raymond Patriarca. Part of their partnership included a conspiracy to assassinate Massachusetts Attorney General EDWARD BROOKE (1919-2015) - the first black Attorney General of that state, who would later become the first African-American popularly elected to the United States Senate.
