Description:

(GEORGE III)
(1738 - 1820) King of England during the American Revolution, it was his policies of taxation and repression that led to the uprisings in the Colonies. A superb, oversize manuscript deed from his reign, 1p. folio 35" x over 20" tall, not signed, June 14, 1815. Bears a beautiful engraved heading and embellished capital "G" at top along with a portrait engraving of the King, regarding a suit for the recovery of a parcel of land. The names mentioned include Samuel Edge, Hugh Hunt, Joshua Chorley, Edward Horton, and Richard Bremridge, witnessed by Sir Vicary Gibbs, Knight at Westminster. This beautiful document incredibly bears the original hanging wax seal (broken), in lead case! Light staining to uppermost horizontal fold, minor cockling and staining throughout. The pendant seal is contained in the original lead case and while broken into many pieces, appears to be mostly present. Overall very good condition, and most attractive for display.
