Description:

LYNETTE FROMME (b. 1948) "Squeaky", follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. Lengthy, good content A.L.S. "L. Fromme Lynette", 5pp. 4to., Fort Worth, July 16, 2000, to Monica Guillory. In small part: "...Your letter, your offer, your concern is welcome even though I have been approached from several directions by a person or several individuals whose interest is in exploitation, and I'm necessarily wary. My only loss, maybe, would be in expenditure of time and energy, but some people will attempt to speak for you or else just to convince others they do...I also was alarmed to see that a book of stamps was rejected and ostensibly returned to ÔResident'...I could not even begin to pinpoint who might've taken what...I became aware of the occasional illegal activity by one or more staff persons. It seems that they learn and are angered by the government policies and/or bosses, by the inmates and/or by their co-workers, and that becomes the justification...For me, it is disheartening maybe only because I want to respect the people I must obey. But on this part, some of these anti-government government workers like to do illegal or ill-regulation things in hopes of getting the respect of inmates....In general, I'd say it is chump foolish to be upright and truthful. My concern right now is with the same kind of abuses of power that people have fought for hundreds of years...". Much more. Boldly penned on lines paper, with the original signed holograph envelope, fine. $150-200
