(1882 - 1945) Thirty-second President of the United States who instituted the "New Deal" programs and who led the United States through most of World War II. A rare and unusual item, an original invitation to the funeral of Franklin D. Roosevelt on Apr. 14, 1945, held in the East Room of the White House. The 5" x 7" black-bordered invitation is embossed with the Presidential seal at top and accompanied by the original envelope. Very good condition. Offered with a FDC honoring First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, cancelled Washington, Oct. 11, 1963, boldly signed by the Roosevelts' son FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, JR.. Additionally includes a block of four 5-cent stamps honoring Eleanor. Three pieces, very good to fine condition.
