FERDINAND V AND ISABELLAI King and Queen of Spain who ruled jointly from 1479 to 1504, they fought and expelled the Moors in 1492, established the Inquisition, and are best remembered for their financing of Columbus' voyage to the Americas. Rare manuscript D.S. signed by both as "Yo el Rey" and "Yo la Reyna", 1p. large 4to., Dec. 28 [1480?], to Rodrigo de Verdesoto appointing him to serve as Procurador of the Royal Court and summoning him to take the oath of his office. Light toning, else fine condition and ideal for display! The Procurador of the Royal Court essentially served as legal counsel to the King and Queen.
