Description:

(ENOLA GAY CREWMEMBERS)
Fine I.S.P., 8" x 10" b/w, a depiction of the atomic "mushroom cloud" rising over the Japanese city of Hiroshima following its atomic bombing by the Enola Gay on Aug. 6, 1945. The photo is signed by seven of the crewmembers who were aboard the B-29 during the attack: Pilot PAUL TIBBETS (1915-2007), navigator THEODORE "DUTCH" VAN KIRK (1921-2014), bombardier TOM FEREBEE (1918-2000), radioman DICK NELSON (1925-2003), radar countermeasures officer JACOB BESER (1921-1992), tail gunner and unofficial photographer GEORGE CARON (1919-1995), and weapon test officer MORRIS JEPPSON (1922-2010). All add their positions aboard the aircraft, but for Caron, who adds the date "Hiroshima 8/6/45". Very good to fine.
