A.E.S. as acting governor, Philadelphia, Feb. 14, 1692/3 on the verso of a D.S. 1p. 4to., Philadelphia, Oct. 14, 1692 in which George Heathcote assigns Samuel Carpenter as his "...lawful Attorney..." Additionally signed as witness on the recto and as a justice of the peace on the verso by DAVID LLOYD (1656 - 1731) William Penn's personal attorney. Speaker of the Pennsylvania Assembly, 1693- 1728 and Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, 1717 - 1731. Usual folds, minor marginal wear, else very good.
