DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER
(1890 - 1969) 34th President of the United States, Supreme Commander of Allied forces in Europe during World War II and largely responsible for the successful invasion on D-Day. T.L.S. "D.E." as President, 1p. 8vo. on his personal White House letterhead, [Washington], Oct. 15, 1960 to his former aide-de-camp during the Second World War, Col. Ernest R. "Tex" Lee. The soon to be former-President thanks Lee and his family for "...your individual thought of me on my birthday anniversary. I managed to get a way to Gettysburg in the middle of the afternoon and there we had a quiet, family celebration of the kind I like best..." In a short postscript, he sends his thanks to Lee's son, Bill "...particularly for the gift he made in my name to the Boy Scout Tribute Fund..." Usual folds, else fine condition.

Shipping

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
