DEAD MAN'S HOOK FROM ANTIETAM
An interesting relic from the battlefield of Antietam, a "dead man's hook" measuring 17", originally painted red to display in the hall and stamped "U.S.". Accompanied by a tag bearing the blind-stamp of the Hagerstown, MD, G.A.R., reading: "Dead Man's Hook Antietam Battlefield, Sept. 18, 1862" (the day after the battle). Originally offered in The Manual of Arms 2009 catalog, No. 69. About 50% of the paint miraculously remains, overall very good condition. Copy of catalog description included.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
