CONFEDERATE P.O.W. LETTER
Good content A.L.S. of Pvt. Noah Deaton of the 26th North Carolina, 1p. small 4to., Point Lookout, Md., Oct. 10, 1864 to his father reporting on his continuing stay in a Union prison. In part: "...I have a snug cracker box house 9 by 10 feet and work at engraving Rings Breast, pins &c.... there is a School going on in this prisen [sic] numbering from 500 to 700 Schollars [sic] conducted by Professor Morgan the boys here are all well..." Usual folds, light soiling, else fine condition.
