(1891 - 1964) American composer and lyricist of the classic musicals Anything Goes, Kiss Me Kate, and Can-Can. T.L.S. "Cole" 1p. 8vo. on Waldorf Astoria letterhead, New York, Mar. 24, 1959 to Kitty Carlisle Hart thanking her for "...sending me the book, 'Beloved Infidel'. I know I shall enjoy it very much. I can't tell you what a joy it was to see you both the other night. I hope you will come back soon." Usual folds, else fine condition. Offered together with Porter's engraved dinner invitation, filled out in an unknown hand, "A Reminder Cole Porter expects you for Dinner on Tuesday, February 18th at 8.30 o'clock... Informal". Fine condition. Together, two pieces. From the Allan McGuire Collection of the Letters of Kitty Carlisle Hart.
