761. (CHOLERA IN NEW ORLEANS) Good content A.L.S., 2pp. 4to., New Orleans, May 24, 1833 in which a seaman writes his brother. In part: "...the cholera is increasing rapidly people are dying all around me. Two of my crew[?] have had it but recovered...let Mother know where I am..." Heavily dampstained but entirely legible, a tear at bottom margin. $75-100
