(CHINA) PEOPLE'S LIBERATION ARMY NAVY OFFICER'S GROUPING
Good lot of five items related to P.L.A.N. Major General WANG CHIA WAN, includes: Good association I.S.P., 5.5 x 7.5 in. b/w, a profile image of the major general in uniform, adding a dedication to ROBERT B. CARNEY JR. (1919 - 1983), USMC brigadier general who earned the Purple Heart at the Battle of Iwo Jima and commanded the 9th Marine Amphibious Brigade on Okinawa during the Vietnam War. Wang Chia Wan signs and inscribes at bottom: 'To his best friend, Major Robert E. Carney USMC, with best wishes for a bright future...Wang Chia Wan, Maj. Gen. CMC.' Mounted and framed to a total size of 9.25 x 11.25 in. Mount damp stained at upper-left, else very good. WITH: Two original photographs (unsigned), one 10" x 11.75" b/w showing Carney and Wang Chia Wan shaking hands, and the other 9.5 x 8.75 in. b/w, showing Carney seated at a table surrounded by other USMC officers, applauding two at-attention Chinese soldiers. Very good to fine. WITH: Metal P.L.A.N. desk piece, approx. 8 in. height x 9 in. width, metal construction, showing a globe with a depiction of China on the outside and a fouled anchor stabbed through it, topped with the "Blue Sky with a White Sun" symbol. Some surface scratches, original green paint and finish slightly worn, else still in presentable condition. WITH: Unidentified P.L.A.N. insignia pin, approx. 0.75 in. square, a star-shaped pin bearing the 'Blue Sky with a White Sun' at center, atop a pair of crossed rifles and an anchor, bearing two prongs on the reverse side with Chinese characters and the numbered marking: '0198'. Fine. Other materials from the military collection of Robert B. Carney Jr. - including his war trunk, cap, medals, miniatures, and photographs - are being sold in a separate lot.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
