Description:

(1934 - 2017) Drifter whose "family" committed the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969. Fine content A.L.S. "Easy Manson" with swastika through his signature, 5pp. legal folio, [Vacaville, 1979]. A surprisingly lucid letter, in part: "...I fought for a lot of years to speak & was not permitted to do anything but kept 10 years in the hole for a bunch of B.S. What I did say was twisted distorted...The ones who have made fortunes from the misfortune made the road to hell...power pushed lies & BS on me for years...How can I explain away all that confusion...in a book...20 books...they will be a new bible in reverse....[other prisoners] say let us write a book & I say OK and we start but they stop & say its too heavy for my minds brain Charlie...ideas are bigger than people...I never lied to you...I've always been in the know & never snitched...myself being raised inside I see outside with different eyes like new eyes..." Fine, with transmittal envelope from fellow prisoner and friend William Wilson. From the estate of Manson's biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote "Manson in His Own Words" and during their collaboration, Manson gave Emmons some of his personal correspondence.
