Description:

CHARLES MANSONMacabre, lengthy, and fine content A.L.S., 10pp., 4to., Pelican Bay State Prison, [n.d.], to a long-time friend and correspondent named only "Juss". Manson writes in response to Juss's problems with alcohol and the loss of his children, and the bizarrely coherent yet clearly psychotic ramblings and digressions give unique insights into one of America's most notorious murderers. In small part: "...I've been thinking about how to explain my real thoughts and feelings...Eye to Eye man LOOK down the 2 holes of this Shot gun & you KNOW I will not BLINK... JUST DO IT you say I don't drink no more and & that's it... I can see you & feel you & believe me I know what the mind goes through... I sit in a cell with candy & nuts...the candy starts yelling at me Eat me Eat me... just tell that drink how you gonna deal with it..." . Interestingly, Manson even writes what may be remorse, or at least some form of realization in his broken mind, in part: "...Here is the BIG shame in LIFE you always wake up when your 2 fucking old -you knew it and you know it but it becomes real when you're old... not having a real dad I've looked up to all men like a dad... Grandad was a soldier & he was the shadow I came in because my grandmother LOVED him only... I feel like a tramp who spent his life in dreams that couldn't ever come true and god doubble [sic] crossed me...". Boldly signed "Ease Charlie Manson", fine.
