Description: (CHARLES DICKENS)
(1812 - 1870) English novelist and the author of such classics as Oliver Twist, A Tale of Two Cities, and David Copperfield. Unusual printed invitation to a dinner given by the American Press in honor of Dickens, measures 5" x 8" and dated Apr. 18, 1868. Nicely framed and in fine condition. Dickens made his second and final trip to the United States in November 1867, remaining there for six months during which he gave numerous lectures.
