CHARLES A. LINDBERGH
(1902 - 1974) American aviator who, in his "Spirit of St. Louis", was the first to fly solo non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean.T.L.S. signed with initials "C.A.L.", 1p. 4to., Tellina [Darien, Conn.], Jul. 15, 1972 to his personal secretary Mrs. Jean Saunders regarding an expected letter from M. Jean-Felix Pashoud. In full: "Dear Mrs. Saunders: Would you please be on the look-out for a letter from M. Jean-Felix Paschoud, Lausanne, Switzerland. When it arrives, please forward it airmail to me at Planorbe. No need to pick up mail oftener than you usually do, in regard to this letter. It won't matter if it takes an extra three or four days reaching me. Many thanks, C.A.L. It will be at least a week before the letter arrives". Slight smudging to the signature, usual folds, otherwise very good. Two years earlier, Paschoud had represented the Chaplin family in the bizarre case of the theft of Charlie Chaplin's body.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
