BENJAMIN WEST
(1738 - 1820) American painter who gained fame by his historical paintings, a charter member of the Royal Academy and one of the founding fathers of American art. Scarce A.L.S. "Benjamin West", 1p. sm. 8vo., [n.p., London?], Nov. 13, 1818 to "Gentlemen". In part: "...Have the goodness to permit my Solicitor...to inspect the 'Trust account of my relatives in America' standing in my name in your books - and to favour him with any explanation of it - and to furnish him with a copy of it...". Trimmed at bottom, else very good to fine.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
