BELT PLATE AND MINIE BALLS RECOVERED AT GETTYSBURG Fine grouping of relics excavated at White Run, near the Gettysburg battlefield, includes about 65 "dropped" minie balls and a pattern 1839 U.S. belt plate with intact paws. White Run was the scene of a Union Army Hospital and a creek which provided desperately-needed water to the dehydrated soldiers. From the well-known collection of Gettysburg resident John Geiselman who started assembling his collection in the 1920's and carefully researched and documented the vast majority of his finds.
