[ Autographs ] WILLIAM BOOTH (1829-1912), "General Booth," English religious leader and founder of the Salvation Army. Remarkable large-format S.P. by Falk Studio in New York, 11" x 13", sepia-tone, showing an elderly well-bearded Booth in a moody seated pose wearing aSalvation Army uniform. Mounted to a 15.5in x 19.5in mount and boldly signed "William Booth" next to the photographer's stamp on the mount. Prominent scratches on margins and across his chest, and wear, soilingand chipping to mount, not affecting signature, otherwise just good. Still an uncommon, arresting image.
