[ Autographs ] ROBERT F. KENNEDY (1925 - 1968) American politician who successfully managed his brother John's presidential campaign andwas later appointed Attorney General. He was assassinated in 1968 while running for president. Fine content T.L.S. "Bob" on his personalletterhead, 1p. 4to., New York, Dec. 23, 1964. The newly-elected Senator writes to Senator Harrison Williams, a ranking member of the Committee on Labor and Public Welfare, regarding the appointment of three Senatorial committees. In part: "...I understand the difficulty of meeting the requests of all of the Senators, and particularly thosewho have no seniority. However, in accordance with custom, I have indicated to the Majority Leader the areas which would be of interest to me and to the state I represent. 1. Foreign Relations 2. Labor and Public Welfare 3. Interstate and Foreign Commerce...". With a holograph postscript: "My best wishes to you Bob." A fine Kennedy piece, written just one month after his election. Boldly signed, a "Received" stamp at bottom, else very good.
