[ Autograph ] Sitting Bull 1831-1890 American Indian leader of the Sioux nation, with Crazy Horse he led the attack at the Battle of Little Big Horn, wiping out George Custer and his entire command. After touring with Buffalo Bill, he was killed by Indian guards. Pencil signature "Sitting Bull' on a sheet of paper removed from a yearly diary, dated in another hand August 3, 1889 Beneath the signature, the recipient has written: "Seen & shook hands with John Grass, the best orator of the Sioux Nation & Gaul, directed the Custer Massacre - Rain in the Face' Light soiling, with two tape remnants in right margin well away from signature.
