Description:

ALPHONSE MUCHA
(1860 - 1939) Czech painter and illustrator famous for his poster designs and costumes for Sarah Bernhardt. A leading Art Nouveau painter and designer. Rare A.L.S. "Alfons Mucha" on both sides of a postcard showing two Czech dancers in traditional dress, [n.p. ca. 1930], to Anna Kubova in Luhacovice. In part: "...We think about you and wish you good health...I was looking forward so much to see you at the Luhacovice fair. This messed up my plans again. When can I...catch you home?...I hope that we will see you in Rosice. You know that Marka's travel is quite difficult with the little girl and this complicates our traveling. Come visit for a while...Greetings from Jaruska too...". Contained within an acrylic case with both sides visible, very good.
