This is a beautiful copy of the legislation of the First Federal Congress, also including the second session held in New York on Jan. 4, 1790 and the third session held in Philadelphia, Dec. 6, 1790. This volume includes proposed amendments to the Constitution, the Judiciary Act of 1789, acts creating the executive departments, the first measures authorizing Hamilton's fiscal program, and much more. A collector has also pasted four autographs to the inside front cover and front flyleaf, all members of the First Congress, including FREDERICK A. MUHLENBERG, JONATHAN STURGES, ELIAS BOUDINOTand FISHER AMES. Rebound in full leather with red and trim on spine and gilt lettering, spine a bit worn, a sturdy, tight binding with contents in very good condition. $1,200-1,500
