ABRAHAM LINCOLN
(1809-1865) Sixteenth President of the United States who led the Union through the Civil War and emancipated the slaves, assassinated. A.N.S. "A. Lincoln" as President, 1p. 16mo., [Washington] Feb. 18, 1863, to Edwin Stanton: "Secy. of War, please see Hon. Mr. Sloan, with his friends." The aforementioned "Hon. Mr. Sloan" was most likely Andrew Scott Sloan (1820 - 1895), Republican Congressman from Wisconsin. Minor tape remnant on verso, light soiling else fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
