A Lock Of Washington's Hair An actual lock of hair, about six strands, taken from the head of George Washington! According to the provenance, the hair was originally owned by Eleanor Parke Custis, grand-daughter of Martha Washington. A later owner was Col. Levin Powell, a Revolutionary War hero and close friend of Georg Washington As a matter of fact, Washington rode ten miles on his old charger to vote for Levin in his successful election to Congress. The lock was obtained directly from the Custis-Powell family. The lock is in a plastic sleeve affixed to an image of Washington. Below is a copy of the signed provenance from Charles Hamilton, from whom the lock was obtained directly.
